Christopher Chung

Director of Music, Junior at William Fremd High School

My name is Christopher Chung, and I am a junior at William Fremd High School. I am a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society and the school band, and I have been a member of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra since 7th grade. I have participated in various festivals and music camps, including Junior High ILMEA, AIJB, ILMEA District Orchestra, and ILMEA All-State Honor Band. Additionally, I attended the Interlochen Arts Camp and the Atlantic Music Festival. I have competed in numerous competitions, winning several awards, including the O’Malley National Concerto Competition (formerly the Walgreen National Concerto Competition). I also participated in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition, where I received the Merit Award and a summer camp scholarship. I believe music is a universal language that brings people together. I enjoy playing the clarinet and aim to help refugees learn music. I am eager to assist them as much as possible and am grateful for this opportunity.
